The Old Tollhouse

More of the history of the Old Tollhouse will be updated soon.......but in the meantime.......
It is an old vernacular building from over 200 years ago when tolls were charged for the use of roads. The Tollmaster was able to view traffic from either direction. Tollhouses in Scotland had to be six miles apart. Only a small number are still used as domestic dwellings, many are listed buildings as they are felt to be an important part of Scottish heritage.
It is presently the home of Shannas Gordon setters.
